EDI Boxes

Much like an e-mail system, Trading Partner Connect provides electronic boxes for any trading documents. Documents are delivered to different boxes based on certain criteria.

Aside from this one difference, all the boxes are virtually identical.

When you first enter a box, you will find a listing of its contents in summary mode. In this mode you will see a list of documents identified by a number of parameters, many are the same ones you search by:

This is a tracking number assigned to a trading partner/transaction type combination. Note that this number can exist more than once in the system, but it will not exist more than once for each combination of trading partner and transaction type.

Additional Details

From this window you may click the name of the sender to be taken to a page with details about the particular document. This details page contains all of the information that the prior page did, and lists the information that was transmitted in the document as well. The Additional Details area of the Errorbox also contains a brief description of what caused the document to fail.

This information defaults to being presented in a reader-friendly format. However, should you wish to see the document as raw data, you may click the View Raw Data link in the upper right of the screen. Should you decide you wish the more reader friendly layout again, simply click the View Readable Format link in the upper right of the screen.

In addition, anytime you view a document in reader-friendly format, you have the option to print the document or save it to your local drive. Clicking the Save button opens a standard Save window, allowing you to save the document as a .txt file on your local drive. Clicking the Print button prints the document as a .pdf file.

Note: Readable format is only available for documents in your document box. Anything in your other boxes may only be viewed as raw data.

Note that while Trading Partner Connect sends quite a few verification and notification messages out via e-mail, those messages are sent to the e-mail addresses specified in your company profile. These document boxes exist to store and track official, transactional paperwork, such as invoices and purchase orders.
