You have the option of using Trading Partner Connect as your primary source of updated pricing information from your suppliers. In addition to providing you with the most up to date pricing information on all of the product lines of your trading partners, Trading Partner Connect can also streamline the pricing update process by providing you with a consistent format for all pricing updates, regardless of where they come from.
This is possible because Trading Partner Connect receives pricing updates from vendors the same as distributors do. However, upon receiving these updates Activant processes them into a standard layout, and distributes this processed file to the proper trading partners.
Distributors have two options when receiving pricing updates via Trading Partner Connect: Manual, and Automatic. You must choose which of your trading partners you wish to update automatically, and so may have a mix of both methods in your business. Establish your update settings in Pricing Service Setup.
When you choose to manually update your pricing information, Trading Partner Connect will do nothing more than store the fact that there is updated information available from one of your trading partners; you will not be notified in any way.
In order to obtain this information, you must log onto the Trading Partner Connect web site and choose which trading partners you would like to updated information on. Click here for procedural instructions on how to do this.
For any supplier you have set to update automatically, Trading Partner Connect will send you the pricing update file when the manufacturer uploads a pricing update to the hub. You will then receive an e-mail notification that the file has already been sent to your system and is ready for import. Note: Scheduled updates are for rationalized items only.
